While the kids and I hung out at home yesterday afternoon, Nathan and the students took a trip to a nearby organic farm. The farm grows olives and kiwis, and also produces their own honey.
While he and Ross waited for the students to arrive, they played a little petanque:
Once all had gathered on the farm's grounds, they took a walk out to the olive groves and he got a few photos of the foliage. Here, a cactus in bloom:
Here, some of the wild mint growing as ground cover on the farm. Nathan said that as the students tramped up the hill to the groves, their feet stamped on and crushed the mint leaves, scenting the air with a the bright tang of mint.
The farm's tour guide had the task of giving all of the tour information in both English and French. Here she's pointing out some young kiwis:
Nathan came home with a hand-rolled honey candle for us to take back to the U.S.
Later last night, he went out again to catch a photo of the lunar eclipse. I could see the moon from our apartment window, and it was bright and reddish, and seemed far too close to believe--a blood orange suspended just above the roofs of our neighbors houses.
