One More Thing

I want to clarify something about the blog here. I just had an email from a friend who has been keeping up with the blog inquiring how classes here were going, and noting that I haven't mentioned anything about the teaching portion of our trip. In a nutshell, it's going wonderfully. I haven't mentioned class much for two reasons: first, I intended this blog as a personal journal of the experience of our travels as a family; second, I feel it would be inappropriate to discuss the goings-on of my class, as that would entail, inevitably, writing about individual students' impressions, writing, comments in class, etc., and that seems to me to cross a kind of confidentiality line. So, while I may now and then make a general remark about class or mention events in which the students too have taken part, I won't go into any details about that part of this trip. (If you've noticed, I haven't named students if they appear in any of the photos Nathan has given me to post either. That's an intentional omission.)

I hope you'll all understand my reservations.
